Interview with Author Ahmad Ardalan
It all started one day, during dinner, when a subject about time travel was discussed. For a few minutes, I dazed off to a world of my own. I had always loved time travel, ever since I was a child, this interest started when I watched a re-run of a 60's TV show in the 80's called The Time Tunnel. I started to write about The Clout of Gen, and never looked back.
Can you tell us about your latest book and your amazing characters?
My latest novel “The Gardener of Baghdad”, is a historical romance set in the golden era of Baghdad, my hometown. Due to the bad circumstances surrounding Baghdad, I was forced to leave in 2002, I only came back for some business in 2013, after my short visit, the daily pain of my beloved city inspired me to write this novel. Through the eyes of Ali, The Gardener of Baghdad, one can restore, the belief of hope and love even in the darkest times. Ali is an example, of a natural pure soul, that would do anything in the name of love.
If you were not a writer what do you think you'd be doing for a living?
I would do exactly what I am doing right now, work in the Food & Beverage industry as a country manager, a job that entitles me to travel to many countries, learn about cultures and meet people..
Any new or exciting projects coming up that we can look forward to seeing from you?
I just finished two parts of my new short thriller story "Matt", I will release "Matt Vol I" 23/1/2015, and "Matt: Chaos in Dubai" ten days later. It tells a story of Matt, a successful entrepreneur who returns home, only to find his wife brutally murdered. A soft verdict to the culprit gang of teenagers, turns him manic towards the weak system we all have to live by. Sleepless nights of frustrations, hate, and anger unleash a different side of him. Berlin, Rome, Paris, and the list goes on, as city after city face his wrath. Brutal barbaric acts of killings, are the only answers to his fuming rage.
